Welcome to Cloverleaf Financial Group, independently owned by Steven King, CFPTM, offering securities through First Allied Securities Inc.

I have been a registered representative since 1993, and have been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional since 2000. I have served clients nationwide, from Connecticut to California, British Columbia to Rio de Janeiro. I help my clients pro-actively grow their wealth, earn income, save for their children’s education, and invest for retirement.

Back in 1976, I earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie-Mellon University. To this day, I use a problem-solving methodology for questions large and small, isolated or integrated, financial and physical. After I got my MBA at the University of Chicago, I took my architecture and business degrees and went to work developing high-rises in New York City.  I learned that building designs are not wish lists. Real people, who come from all over the world, risk their lives to build them. And every day, people rely on each building’s integrity and soundness. As a financial advisor, I respect that same need for integrity and soundness. I know that the risk/reward dynamic is not some parlor game. It’s your family’s future at stake.

At the University of Chicago, l learned modern portfolio theory. But I also know that theories represent reality only statistically, and you and your family are not statistics. You are unique, and your financial solutions need to be as well.

Why I do what I do

I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional in order to have a direct and meaningful impact on people’s lives. You need more resources, less stress, better service, someone to turn to with questions.

I joined First Allied Securities because I wanted to be an independent advisor. That way, no one other than my clients and I, working together, will identify and decide which services or investments to consider. Unlike at the big name firms you’ve seen on TV, there is no sales manager whispering in my ear, telling me which ideas to recommend.

Who are you, and what do you need?

My clients come from many walks of life.

They include computer engineers, civil engineers, geologists; an aeronautical engineer, and a solar energy engineer; the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, the owner of several restaurants, the head of a Beltway think tank; a mountain-climber, a pioneer of Boolean search, and a CIA consultant; architects, builders, an actor, an illustrator, and a biotech entrepreneur; doctors, attorneys, and a veterinarian; steel men, oil men, a titanium man, two uranium hunters and two silversmiths; a thoroughbred breeder, a Nashville studio musician, and a builder of custom dragsters.

What do they all have in common? Each is using wealth to tackle real-world challenges—the health and security of family, the education of children, the comfort and peace of mind of knowing that they have a plan to help prepare retirement.

Helping people like my clients is what I live for.

If you are like them, you are astute enough to manage your financial life, but have fully allocated your professional time, and crave more personal time, and don’t need a second job doing due diligence on every investment idea, and all the financial news of the day.

Your heart is in your work; you want a financial advisor who feels the same way.

• You want to approach the whole range of your financial planning and implementation as a network of interconnected parts.

• You want to manage your investments with an eye to smoothing out the markets' emotional gyrations.

• You want to work with a financial advisor who brings relevant issues into focus in a timely way.

You prefer pro-action over re-action.
